There are destinations that offer beautiful scenery, and then there are places that leave an impression long after the journey ends. Cabo San Lucas belongs to the latter. Where the desert meets the sea, the Baja California Peninsula offers an alluring blend of natural drama, exceptional hospitality and understated indulgence.
Our recent escape was an invitation to experience the destination at its most personal: mornings overlooking the marina from a private hillside villa, an evening of remarkable coastal dining, and an unforgettable day exploring the water aboard a luxury yacht.
Casa Ayla: A Sanctuary Above the Marina

High above Cabo San Lucas in the exclusive hillside enclave of Pedregal, Casa Ayla is a study in contemporary coastal living. Clean architectural lines, generous glass walls and an expansive outdoor terrace make the surrounding landscape an integral part of the experience.
From the pool, the marina unfolds below in a panorama of boats, mountains and sunlit rooftops. Indoors, the villa’s neutral palette, warm wood details and open-plan spaces create a sense of calm that feels both sophisticated and welcoming.
Inside, the residence is designed around the simple pleasure of being together. The generous living room invites conversation, while light-filled bedrooms offer private spaces to retreat. The atmosphere is polished but never formal, making it easy to settle into a slower rhythm.
The most memorable luxury is often the freedom to experience a place entirely on your own terms.

Sunset Monalisa: Dinner at the Edge of the Sea

Few settings capture the romance of Cabo quite like Sunset Monalisa. Built into the rocky coastline, its terraced dining spaces open toward the horizon, where the evening sky moves through shades of amber, rose and violet.
As the sun descended, dinner became an experience shaped by far more than the menu. Thoughtfully presented dishes and an intimate oceanfront atmosphere were accompanied by a live band, creating an evening that felt effortlessly celebratory.
What lingers is the combination of sensory details: the changing colours across the water, the glow of the restaurant’s lights, the rhythm of live music and the pleasure of an unhurried meal in an extraordinary setting.
A Private Passage Along the Coast

For another perspective on Cabo, we took to the water with Private Yachting Club. Departing from the marina, our private yacht journey traded the energy of the shore for wide-open views of the coastline and the distinctive rock formations of Land’s End.
Attentive staff guided the experience throughout the day, allowing us to focus on the scenery and the simple pleasure of being out on the sea. With thoughtful onboard hospitality, the outing felt as relaxing as it was memorable.
Between the sun, the ocean breeze and the ever-changing coastline, the day unfolded with an easy sense of freedom. The experience was a reminder that exploring a destination by water can reveal an entirely different character, one defined by quiet coves, sculptural cliffs and uninterrupted horizons.

The Cabo State of Mind

From the privacy of Casa Ayla to the theatre of sunset dining and the serenity of a private yacht, Cabo offers a rare balance of indulgence and adventure. It is a place that invites travellers to slow down, embrace the setting and appreciate the moments that make a journey truly memorable.
